Significance is about Maggie, a seventeen-year-old girl who's had a bad year. She was smart and on the track team, but when her mom left, her dad became depressed and started ignoring her. Now, she's barely graduating and her boyfriend of almost three years dumped her for a college football scholarship. Lately, she has been feeling like an outsider. Then she meets Caleb. She saves his life, literally, and when she shakes his hand she feels instantly connected to him. Things change when they touch, sparks ignite. Turns out they imprinted with each other, and she learns that not only is she his soul mate, and can feel his heartbeat in her chest, but there is a whole other world of people with gifts and abilities that she never knew existed. She starts feeling changes unlike anything she's ever felt before and she needs him to survive. Her friend and Caleb's cousin, Kyle, is deeply disappointed. He has been trying to get her to go on a date with him for a long time, and he knows Caleb has taken her away from him. Add the facts that now, of all times, her dad starts to come out of his depression state to be a father again, and that Caleb's enemies are after Maggie to stop them both from gaining their abilities. Maggie's life will never be the same. But is that a good or a bad thing?
I'm giving this book five stars. It has just enough action and romance in it to satisfy readers. I suggest this book to ages 15+ because it can get a little... heated. I love it, and could not put it down until I finished the last page. I hope you enjoy it just as much!
